Hi there. In this post, I’ll be revealing 5 truths gleaned from the series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

The series is centered on the Archie Comics character Sabrina Spellman, portrayed by Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto and other stars.

Plot

Sabrina Spellman must reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.

Premise

The supernatural has always fascinated me. I’m an avid reader of books that deal on the subject; movies too. But I have my limits. Why?

Because I realized that you are what you read/watch. Also, many of these movies are traps.

Yes. Traps to open doorways from hell into your life.

If you read occult books a lot, sooner or later, you’ll be tempted to dabble in the occult. It’s the same with Christian books. You begin to think and practice what you read or watch.

But I digress.

After seeing Seasons 1 and 2, I wanted to know what Season 3 would be like. And boy o boy, the producers didn’t disappoint. In fact, Season 3 was worse and darker than its predecessors.

It is important to note that the series basically promotes witchcraft and satanism. It makes it cool to be a witch or a warlock.

You have a bunch of gorgeous teenagers who stand against bullying and injustice, can astral project, have terrific spiritual gifts to help their friends/family, plus a loving and supportive family/coven.

Who wouldn’t want to be a witch/warlock/psychic, right?

Necromancy, washing with ghastly water to save a friend from hell, having multiple sexual partners and consorting with demons is okay and cool. I could go on and on but you get the picture.

A young person that has not developed the ability to think critically will absorb this information, integrate it and, ultimately, live by it. However, an educated mind will realize that all of these values are artificial constructs and deceiving illusions.

5 Truths Gleaned from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

While watching Part 3, I was reminded of certain truths I had observed since the beginning of the series. Only this time, I had deeper clarity.

It is common knowledge that what the Dark Kingdom practices is stolen/copied from the Kingdom of God. The only difference is that the devil perverts it.

So it was quite disconcerting to watch the series and see how these witches/warlocks/Satanists follow these practices to the letter.

Prayer is compulsory for them. Attending unholy mass is compulsory. Corporate prayer is important. Having a thriving coven is very compulsory.

So I compiled my observations and without further ado, below are 5 truths I gleaned from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

1. Corporate Prayer

Evident from S1-3 was the power the coven wielded by coming together to pray. Members of the coven in threes or more would hold hands to pray for a particular outcome. A pagan cult also prayed together to disrupt Sabrina’s coven’s attempts to regain their powers.

2. Unity and Fellowship

This was heavily emphasized throughout the series. They never failed to assemble in the desecrated church every night, or someplace when needed. It was required of every member and they dared not miss it. There were oneness/unity and the coven, a priority. Without their coven, they were powerless.

3. Starting and Ending with Prayer

In seasons 1 and 2, they always prayed to the Dark Lord, Lucifer, before doing anything. Season 3 found them praying to Lilith or Madam Satan, yet there was no doubt in their mind whatsoever that she (Lilith) would listen and bless them. They had to pray to someone; a higher being. Praying was very important to them.

4. Study To Show Thyself Approved

This one struck me most of all. As I watched, I observed anytime Sabrina or Ambrose (her cousin) encountered any difficulty or adversary, they always had a word to say to that situation or demon in Latin, and then they prevailed. How did they know the right words to say?

They studied! At various times in the series, you could see them studying their satanic bible and other books to gain knowledge.

Enchantments were never far from their lips in case there was trouble.

5. They were their brother’s keepers

When a member of the coven got missing, didn’t show up or something went wrong, they were quick to notice, and swing into action immediately. Prudence would always look out for her sisters (not biological). It was all for one and one for all. You come for one, they all come for you.

Conclusion

There are more truths to this series but five is enough for now. Perhaps, I’ll make regular updates to this post.

In as much as this series exposes and glorifies the dark side and their activities (it’s even the tip of the iceberg), you’ll agree with me that there are lessons to be learned.

CAOS reveals the truth that life is spiritual and that the spiritual realm controls the physical realm.

It tells us that prayer is key; Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer and we must all pray without ceasing.

It tells us that there is power in corporate prayer, unity, fellowshipping with the brethren, and loving your neighbor as yourself.

And last but not the least, it tells us that the Bible – the Word of God – is our weapon of warfare. Without the Word, you are powerless.

These are truths that can’t be contested. And as followers of Christ, we need not be told or reminded of our duty. Especially not from the Dark Kingdom who copies everything from the Kingdom of Light, your kingdom.

  1. Thanks Chacha for your comment. I totally understand the ‘dark place’ you mentioned and trying to get out the wrong way. I am mighty glad you didn’t succumb either. God bless you.

  2. There is a lot of truth in this and I am a fan of movies like this. There was a time I was in a dark place and I thought about invoking certainties I had read about and watched. Thank God for home training and deep Christian background. I would have succumbed to the darkness within.
